Welcome to the Immaculate Conception Church Youth Page.  In addition to Family Catechesis, our parish, starting in the fall of 2023 will be offering a middle school and high school youth group.  Father Carroll, assisted by several adults, will be opening these opportunities for the young people.  In addition to the Youth Groups our parish will be offering what will be known as First Friday Fun Days.  There will be a brief description of these groups below.

Bienvenidos a la página de jóvenes de la Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción. Además de la catequesis familiar, nuestra parroquia, a partir del otoño de 2023, ofrecerá un grupo de jóvenes de secundaria y preparatoria. El Padre Carroll, asistido por varios adultos, abrirá estas oportunidades para los jóvenes de nuestra parroquia. Además de los Grupos de Jóvenes, nuestra parroquia ofrecerá lo que se conocerá como los Días de Diversión del Primer Viernes. A continuación se hará una breve descripción de estos grupos.

Connect Four is our middle school youth program open to grades 5 through 8 that meets on the 3rd Friday of every month from 6 - 9 pm in the parish activity center during the months of September - May & July.  Our middle school program will be designed to connect faith, fellowship, food, and fun.  

Breakdown:
Faith:  30 minutes dedicated to a brief lesson and prayer
Fellowship & Food: 30 minutes to eat and socialize.
Fellowship & Fun:  Dedicated to crafts, games, movies, etc.

Connect Four es nuestro programa juvenil de escuela intermedia abierto a los grados 5 a 8 que se reúne el tercer viernes de cada mes de 6 a 9 pm en el centro de actividades de la parroquia durante los meses de septiembre, mayo y julio. Nuestro programa de escuela intermedia estará diseñado para conectar la fe, el compañerismo, la comida y la diversión.

Descomponer:
Fe: 30 minutos dedicados a una breve lección y oración
Compañerismo y comida: 30 minutos para comer y socializar.
Compañerismo y diversión: dedicado a manualidades, juegos, películas, etc.

The word conception not only can be defined as conceiving a child, but also be defined as "the forming or devising of a plan or idea."  Students in grades 9 through 12 are in a process of discernment.  Having been confirmed and received the fullness of the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation these students are beginning to discern where they will be headed in the future.  Our high school youth group in addition to providing an opportunity for faith, fellowship, and fun will be designed to help them prepare for what lies ahead of them.  It is our hope that the time provided in this youth program will prepare them to be launched into the world to be faithful disciples and good citizens.  

Our high school youth group, CONCEPTION, will meet every third Sunday from 6 - 8:30 pm from September - May & July.

La palabra concepción no solo se puede definir como concebir un niño, sino también como "la formación o elaboración de un plan o idea". Los estudiantes de los grados 9 a 12 están en un proceso de discernimiento. Habiendo sido confirmados y recibido la plenitud del Espíritu Santo en el Sacramento de la Confirmación, estos estudiantes están comenzando a discernir hacia dónde se dirigirán en el futuro. Nuestro grupo de jóvenes de la escuela secundaria, además de brindar una oportunidad para la fe, el compañerismo y la diversión, estará diseñado para ayudarlos a prepararse para lo que les espera. Es nuestra esperanza que el tiempo provisto en este programa para jóvenes los prepare para ser lanzados al mundo a ser fieles discípulos y buenos ciudadanos.

Nuestro grupo de jóvenes de secundaria, CONCEPCIÓN, se reunirá cada tercer domingo de 6 a 8:30 p. m. de septiembre a mayo y julio.

Our parish would like to provide an opportunity for students from kindergarten - high school an opportunity to gather to have fun...in addition to giving parents a night off.  First Friday Fun Nights will provide an opportunity for crafts, games, movies, prayer, and snacks.  

First Friday Fun nights are held September - December & February - June.

Nuestra parroquia quisiera brindar una oportunidad para que los estudiantes de jardín de infantes a escuela secundaria se reúnan para divertirse... además de darles a los padres una noche libre. First Friday Fun Nights brindará la oportunidad de hacer manualidades, juegos, películas, oración y refrigerios.

Las noches de diversión del primer viernes se llevan a cabo de septiembre a diciembre y de febrero a junio.

Immaculate Conception Church is truly blessed with space.  While certainly parking can be a challenge, we do have space for activities.  Since Immaculate Conception School closed, we have been using the building as a parish office, classrooms, and thrift shop.  There is some space in the building that is underutilized.  

One of those places is the second floor of our school.  While needing some work, this place can be easily transformed into a specific area for our children.  Back in 2021, Dominic Maiolino converted one of the upstairs classrooms into an educational chapel as part of his Eagle Scout project.  We utilized a couple of extra pews around the parish property, brought the old convent altar over along with a few kneelers.  Father Carroll donated a Marian Chalice and the vestments that are in the room.

La Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción está verdaderamente bendecida con espacio. Aunque ciertamente el estacionamiento puede ser un desafío, tenemos espacio para actividades. Desde que cerró la escuela Immaculate Conception, hemos estado usando el edificio como oficina parroquial, aulas y tienda de segunda mano. Hay algún espacio en el edificio que está subutilizado.

Uno de esos lugares es el segundo piso de nuestra escuela. Si bien necesita algo de trabajo, este lugar se puede transformar fácilmente en un área específica para nuestros hijos. En 2021, Dominic Maiolino convirtió una de las aulas de arriba en una capilla educativa como parte de su proyecto Eagle Scout. Utilizamos un par de bancos adicionales alrededor de la propiedad de la parroquia, trajimos el antiguo altar del convento junto con algunos reclinatorios. El Padre Carroll donó un Cáliz Mariano y las vestiduras que se encuentran en la sala.

We hope that in the future we can use one of the classrooms as a lounge, another as a game room, and one as a classroom/conference room.  There is another room at the end of the hallway that was probably used as a science lab at one point that he would love to use as a kitchenette.

Esperamos que en el futuro podamos usar una de las aulas como salón, otra como sala de juegos y una como aula/sala de conferencias. Hay otra habitación al final del pasillo que probablemente se usó como laboratorio de ciencias en algún momento y que le encantaría usar como cocineta.
 

The above picture is of what was probably the old science lab.  At some point we would like to covert it into a kitchenette by adding a microwave and a refridgerator.


This particular classroom was used for the 5th & 6th grade religious education class.  Since this room is connected to the room that we would like to convert into the kitchenette, we would like to use this room as a lounge that would have seating and a tv.


The above image is of the 7th and 8th grade classroom.  We would like to designate this classroom as a game room.  Our wish list would be to have a fooseball table, ping pong table and an area for board games.  


This classroom, across from what would be the game room, would become a classroom/conference room.  

NOTE:  When religious education is in session the chapel, classroom/conference room, and lounge can be used also as classrooms.
