Since 2020 our parish adapted our monthly turkey dinners to the "takeout" only format.  Since then, our parish has seen tremendous success, and we decided to stick with this format.   Before Covid our dinners brought in a little over $1,000 each dinner.  Today we sell between 500 - 600 meals every third Sunday of the month and profit between $4,000 - $5,000 a dinner.  

While this is indeed a great fundraiser for our parish, the success of the "Takeout" Turkey Dinner would not be possible without our TEAM!  Like the thrift shop our "takeout" turkey dinner volunteers make it possible.  

Who are the members of this awesome TEAM?
1)  Our dedicated volunteers who set up and prepare the meal.  Those who serve the meal and stay to clean up afterwards!  Of course, I cannot forget our dedicated volunteer cashiers and counter.  
2) Our dedicated patrons made up of both parishioners and members of the community.  We even have dedicated people who travel from outside our community to support our parish!  
3) Those who donate containers, eggs, deserts, and turkeys!  We have individuals who donate $5.00 for eggs, and $25.00 for turkeys.  Some of these individuals even support us by purchasing meals!  Those who donate containers, eggs, and turkeys are the reason we are able to keep our meals at ONLY $10.00!  

The benefit of keeping the cost at ONLY $10.00?
By keeping our meals at $10.00 we are able to serve the community by providing a nice hot meal at a very reasonable cost.  The truth is you get such a generous portion, many of our patrons tell us they are able to get two dinners out of one meal!   One gets more food by spending $10.00 on one of our takeout turkey dinners than spending $10.00 at any fast-food restaurant.   

Consider taking someone who is unable to get out one of our meals?
While our "takeout" turkey dinner is a successful fundraiser for the parish, we see it also as a potential pastoral outreach.  For example, we have some of our extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion take meals to those they visit.  Perhaps you might know a neighbor or friend who is ill or just unable to get out of the house.  Consider warming their hearts by offering them a nice warm turkey dinner.   It's only $10.00 and for $10.00 you could possibly make someone's day.
