Our religious education program will continue with the Family Catechesis program using the Christ our Light Series by Loyola Press. We are continuing with the Family Catechesis program because we believe it is important for families to be actively engaged in the religious formation of their children. This coming year we will be going back to more frequent meetings. The other Sundays of the month will be dedicated to Sacramental Preparation, the study of the bible, and theology of the body. We will meet all Sundays with the exception of the 3rd Sunday of the month because of our popular and successful "Takeout" Turkey Dinner. In addition to the 3rd Sunday, we will have a break for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.
We invite you to view the calendar and schedule for the upcoming year below. You can also view the textbooks and programs we will be using next year. If your child is preparing for the sacraments, please click the button for sacramental registration. Finally, in addition to the paper registration forms (which are located on the counter in the back of Church) you can register your child online. We just ask you submit your payment by placing them in an envelope marked Religious Education in the collection basket or drop it off to the parish office. If you mail your payment to the office, please send it to the parish office at 101 N. We recommend purchasing the bible at your child's age level. Keep in mind that each bible with their added commentary and reflections will only help your child continue to learn God's plan through Sacred Scripture. Right now the only bible translated into Spanish is the "Catholics Children's Bible." The parish will provide a limited number of bibles per class for potential group lessons in the event a child forgets their bibles.

Volunteer Catechist Needed: We are looking for additional catechists to assist in our religious education program for the 2025 – 2026 year. We are seeking two individuals to assist in our OCIA program for children. The OCIA program is for children needing baptism, confirmation, and first Holy Communion. We are looking to have two age groups (7 – 12 & 13 – 17) when necessary. Because our families are diverse, having knowledge of English and Spanish would be helpful but not necessarily required. In addition, we are always looking for individuals who can serve as aides or substitutes when necessary. The role of catechist is a beautiful ministry in the Church, for you help the parents (who are the primary educators of the faith) instill and reinforce the faith in their children. What is the time commitment? To be available weekends from August through May. For those who are interested in this ministry, in addition to class time, time is also needed for lesson planning. While there is some time commitment involved (you will need to be available on Sundays from Mid-August to Mid-May) there is no greater ministry necessary today than the ones that minister to our young people. If you are looking to make an impact in the lives of our children and are considering this ministry, please reach out to Lisa Myers our Coordinator of Religious Education.
SE NECESITAN CATEQUISTAS VOLUNTARIOS: Buscamos catequistas adicionales para ayudar en nuestro programa de educación religiosa para el año 2025-2026. Buscamos dos personas para ayudar en nuestro programa OCIA para niños. El programa OCIA es para niños que necesitan bautismo, confirmación y primera comunión. Buscamos tener dos grupos de edad (7-12 y 13-17) cuando sea necesario. Debido a que nuestras familias son diversas, tener conocimiento de inglés y español sería útil, pero no necesariamente requerido. Además, siempre estamos buscando personas que puedan servir como ayudantes o sustitutos cuando sea necesario. El papel de catequista es un hermoso ministerio en la Iglesia, ya que ayuda a los padres (quienes son los principales educadores de la fe) a inculcar y reforzar la fe en sus hijos. ¿Cuál es el compromiso de tiempo? Estar disponible los fines de semana de agosto a mayo. Para aquellos que estén interesados en este ministerio, además del tiempo de clase, también se necesita tiempo para la planificación de las lecciones. Si bien requiere cierta dedicación de tiempo (deberá estar disponible los domingos desde mediados de agosto hasta mediados de mayo), hoy en día no hay ministerio más importante que el que atiende a nuestros jóvenes. Message from Father Carroll!
Dear Brothers and Sisters, As catechists teach your child(ren) and parents/guardians continue to catechize their children in the home, we ask that you please don't forget some the basic responsibilities we have as Catholics. They are simply the precepts of the Church...
1. To attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation.
2. To receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at least once a year.
3. To receive the Eucharist at least once a year, during the Easter Season.
4. To observe the days of fasting and abstinence.
5. To provide for the needs of the Church according to one's ability.
The example we set together helps reinforce what your child(ren) learn in the classroom and ultimately grow in their faith. We recognize that parents are the primary examples and teachers of the faith. I as pastor and those entrusted with the ministry of catechists are here to assist you in your vocation as parents. We look forward to working with you to help you fulfill your vocation.

Mientras los catequistas enseñan a sus hijos y los padres/tutores continúan catequizando a sus hijos en casa, les pedimos que no olviden algunas de las responsabilidades básicas que tenemos como católicos. Son simplemente los preceptos de la Iglesia...
1. Asistir a Misa los domingos y días de precepto.

Reconocemos que los padres son los principales ejemplos y maestros de la fe. Como párroco, yo y quienes han recibido el ministerio de catequistas estamos aquí para ayudarles en su vocación como padres. Esperamos colaborar con usted para ayudarle a alcanzar su vocación.
