Welcome to our OCIA page for children. When a child reaches the age of 7, the church considers them having reached the age of reason. A child having reached the age of 7 is brought into the church the same way an adult would be at the Easter Vigil. They would receive all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) at that time. The Church recognizes accommodations must be made to catechize our children. Students in grades k thru 6 will meet in their age-appropriate class on the First Sunday of the month. However, the other weeks they will be placed in a special class designed to offer formation for all three sacraments of initiation.
