OCIA for Children over the age of 7

Welcome to our OCIA page for children. When a child reaches the age of 7, the church considers them having reached the age of reason. A child having reached the age of 7 is brought into the church the same way an adult would be at the Easter Vigil. They would receive all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Holy Communion) at that time. The Church recognizes accommodations must be made to catechize our children. Students in grades k thru 6 will meet in their age-appropriate class on the First Sunday of the month. However, the other weeks they will be placed in a special class designed to offer formation for all three sacraments of initiation.

Bienvenidos a nuestra página de OCIA para niños. Cuando un niño cumple 7 años, la Iglesia considera que ha alcanzado la edad de razón. Un niño de 7 años es llevado a la iglesia de la misma manera que un adulto en la Vigilia Pascual. Recibirá los tres sacramentos de iniciación (Bautismo, Confirmación y Sagrada Comunión) en ese momento. La Iglesia reconoce que se deben hacer adaptaciones para la catequizacion de nuestros niños. Los estudiantes de kínder a 6.º grado se reunirán en la clase correspondiente a su edad el primer domingo de cada mes. Sin embargo, las demás semanas se les asignará una clase especial diseñada para ofrecerles formación en los tres sacramentos de iniciación.
