Our Parish Cemetery
Our cemetery is located just outside the town of New Oxford on route 30, located directly across the street from the shopping center. The cemetery is maintained by the parish. For information regarding purchasing a lot at our cemetery, please contact our business manager Becky Roth at 717-624-4121.

The Grotto today!The History of the Grotto
Work on the Grotto was started before Mother's Day 1950 and was dedicated by Father Hartnett on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception on December 8th, 1950.
What makes the grotto unique is that stones used in the construction came from different parts of the world.
Stone #1: the Old Spanish Mission of San Juan Capistrano in California
Stones 2 & 3: are from Japan and Korea, but it is not known which is from which country. They were obtained by Lt. William Weaver, and he died in action in Korea. They were sent by a Japanese friend of Lt. Weaver.Stone # 4: is from Doon Bay County, Kerry, Ireland, on the River Shannon, across from Clare Point, where, according to legend, Saint Patrick landed when he came to evangelize Ireland in the 4th century.
Stone # 5: brought by Father Hartnett from the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, France
Stone #6: is from the spot at Saint Augustine, Florida, where Ponce Deleon landed on August 15, 1565. Mass was first said on American shores there on September 8, 1565, by the Spanish missionaries who were with him.
Stone # 7: is from the foundation walls of the house of Father Dubois at Mount Saint Mary's in Emmitsburg, in which Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton lives for six weeks before she moved to Mount Saint Jospeh's in Emmitsburg.
The stones around the statue of the Blessed Mother are from the foundation walls of the old Sulpician Monastery on the seminary farm at the Pigeon Hills about three miles southeast of New Oxford.
Cemetery CleanupParish volunteers clean up the parish cemetery on the second Saturday in March and the second Saturday in November. All decorations and ornaments are to be removed prior to the cleanup day. We are NOT RESPONSIBLE for anything removed on that day. Also, we are not responsible for anything broken, lost, or stolen from the cemetery. While not managed by the Diocese we follow the Diocesan Guidelines in regard to decorations. Please consult them! Things can be broken or lost as a result of mowing or weather!
Placement of American FlagsAround Memorial Day we place American Flags on the graves of our veterans. They remain on the graves all throughout the summer into the fall. Flags are then removed AFTER Veterans Day -
