Family Catechesis Program
Immaculate Conception Church has adopted a "Family Catechesis Model" for Religious Education Classes. This means that majority of the child's faith formation will take place in the home. Parents will receive tools from the parish in order for them to effectively catechize their children.
Parents who have students in grades Kindergarten through Sixth grade gather once a month in the Parish Activity Center (or as the schedule indicates) to gain a more robust understanding of the material that they will be sharing with their children. Students also gather once a month (or as the schedule indicates) to meet with the grade-specific catechists for prayer and further faith enrichment. There will be time throughout the year in which fellowship activities will also be held for Religious Education students and their families.
As we have done in past years, for the Family Catechesis Series we will be using the Christ our Life series for Grades K thru 6. The purpose of the family catechesis program is to provide opportunities for the faith to be discussed in the home. It is our hope that discussing the faith with their children, the family catechesis model will help families grow together in their relationship with the Lord. One must always remember that the parents are the primary educators of the faith for their children.
Programa de Catequesis Familiar
La Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción ha adoptado un "Modelo de Catequesis Familiar" para las Clases de Educación Religiosa. Esto significa que la mayor parte de la formación de la fe del niño se llevará a cabo en el hogar. Los padres recibirán herramientas de la parroquia para que puedan catequizar eficazmente a sus hijos.
Los padres de familia con hijos de kínder a sexto grado se reúnen mensualmente en el Centro de Actividades Parroquial (o según lo indique el programa) para profundizar en el material que compartirán con sus hijos. Los estudiantes también se reúnen mensualmente (o según lo indique el programa) para reunirse con los catequistas de cada grado para orar y profundizar en su fe. Habrá tiempo a lo largo del año para actividades de convivencia para los estudiantes de Educación Religiosa y sus familias.
Como en años anteriores, para la Serie de Catequesis Familiar utilizaremos la serie "Cristo, nuestra Vida" para los grados de kínder a sexto. El propósito de la catequesis familiar es brindar oportunidades para dialogar sobre la fe en el hogar. Esperamos que al dialogar sobre la fe con sus hijos, el modelo de catequesis familiar ayudará a las familias a crecer juntas en su relación con el Señor. Recuerden siempre que los padres son los principales educadores de la fe de sus hijos.

Para cumplir con los requisitos diocesanos de educar a los niños de nuestras escuelas católicas y a los estudiantes de educación religiosa sobre el tema de la "Teología del Cuerpo" e invitar a nuestros estudiantes a aprender más sobre nuestras Sagradas Escrituras, los estudiantes se reunirán el segundo, cuarto y quinto domingo del mes para discutir este material (o según lo que se indique en el calendario de clases).
